As we were waiting 

In this transitional character of a space 

Where everything seemed to be moving on 

Except for us in our never ending state of latency 



Even our objects evolved

With a layer of dust

Which the sleeping greyhounds, not surprisingly,

have not yet shaken off



We plan on taking out our celebratory glasses for another time

When the hours won’t seem so petrified
